PONTE VEDRA, FL --(actionList.Pro LLC)-- actionList.Pro (aLP) recently published an enhancement to its sectorScan panel. It now includes a cross-sectional study that presents the full distribution of powerLine alerts* associated with the primary sectors in aLP’s proprietary industrial taxonomy. (See Image 1)

Each horizontal bar represents the distribution of powerLine alerts for the indicated industrial sector. The dark-green and dark-red terminal segments call attention to the proportions of positive and negative powerLine crossover alerts, respectively. The light-green and light-red inner segments represent ongoing positive and negative alert assessments.

Ranked by ascending positive (or descending negative) composite alerts, the new study meaningfully quickens discovery and assessment of remarkable sector dynamics. Sectors with a relatively low proportion of positive (negative) alerts rank near the chart’s top (bottom). Assessing sector-level trends just got easier!

Over time, the study highlights each sector's progression through its powerLine alert cycle, as measured by its constituents: % positive crossovers → % positives → % negative crossovers → % negatives

Bias and changes in the terminal segments can serve to help highlight emerging positive or negative alert concentrations within industrial sectors, or even across the entire** stock market when broadly distributed across sectors. The catchall (ALL; highlighted in red) category summarizes all sector powerLine alerts in one distribution, and provides a convenient point of reference for relative compare and contrast exercises.

Notably, the colors in the powerLine alert distribution study mirror those in the powerLine alert time-series based study, linking them visually, and making cross references exceptionally easy; nearly seamless. (See Image 2)

Together, the studies offer highly complementary perspectives of the same sector-level powerLine alert structure; one presents the most recent observations of powerLine alert distributions, and the other monitors their changes over time. … Where are we? How did we get here? … As a set, they enhance and reinforce situational awareness, and may serve to uncover pockets of both potential risks and opportunities within the stock market’s substructures … Where might we be going?
